Training and Development Certificate

Talent development and training requires a set of integrated organizational HR processes designed to attract, develop, motivate, and retain productive, engaged employees. The goal of talent development is to create a high-performance, sustainable organization that meets its strategic and operational goals and objectives. Students enrolled in the Certificate in Training and Development will explore roles, responsibilities, and careers in training and development, learn key theories, models, and terminology along with instructional design basics by evaluating real-world learning projects against evidence-based best practices.

This 18-hour Certificate in Training and Development is an alternative to the complete Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership for students looking to build critical leadership skills specific to the talent development profession. This certificate does not require a thesis. Students who earn the Certificate in Training and Development will understand the Association for Talent Development (ATD) Capability Model.  The alignment of the curriculum to the ATD model ensures that our students develop in-demand skills with the potential to lead to ATD certification. This certificate prepares students for leadership roles in instructional design, training management, e-learning, performance improvement, consulting, and change management.
