Early Childhood Special Education Letter of Approval

Pre-Kindergarten Inclusive and Special Education

Program: NOND-ECEN-3

Candidates for adding this approval are those who currently hold a PEL endorsed in Early Childhood Education (self-contained general education) OR LBSI – Learning Behavior Specialist I). Candidates are encouraged to obtain a letter of deficiency from ISBE listing which courses are required based on an individualized transcript review before registering in the following course of study. The following course of study meets the requirements for the Illinois Early Childhood Special Education Letter of Approval.

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) grants professional educator licenses in the State of Illinois. All teacher candidates who successfully complete an approved teacher education program at Lewis University, pass appropriate licensure exams, and meet current ISBE requirements will be recommended for licensure. This does not lead to licensure in other states. Teacher candidates are responsible for checking the requirements of the state in question.

Note: ISBE requirements are subject to change. Please contact your advisor for the most up to date licensure information.
