Chemical Physics is an interdisciplinary major that explores the increasingly important interface of chemistry and physics.  Students in this major are provided a grounding in the fundamental principles and laboratory skills of chemistry and physics. At Lewis, students have the option to complete a Chemical Physics degree with either a Chemistry emphasis or a Physics emphasis depending on their interests and career goals.  Students also have the opportunity to engage in undergraduate research with Physics and/or Chemistry faculty working in the Chemical Physics arena.

Degree Requirements

All Chemical Physics students will take the core courses listed (58 credit hours) and then branch out into either an emphasis in Physics OR an emphasis in Chemistry.

A grade of "C-" or better must be earned in a prerequisite course in order to advance to the next course in the sequence. All students majoring in this program may take a required class only twice at Lewis University. If a student has not achieved a minimum of a "C-" after the second attempt, the student may not repeat the class.

Chemical Physics majors may not double major or minor in Physics or Chemistry.
