Five one-credit hour Practicums are required of all majors in the Theatre major.  Besides the required Practicums, which include 22-410, 22-414, 22-416, 22-427, majors must choose one additional Practicum.  Students may take more than the required number.  Additional Practicums may be chosen from 22-384 to 22-425.  Each Practicum is arranged with an individual instructor and is designed to give the student practical experience in different areas of theatre. The Practicums consist of work on one of the five mainstage productions offered by the department each year.  Consent of the show's director or the department chair must be acquired before registering for these Practicums.

IV. Theatre majors must maintain an up-to-date portfolio of all class and production experience.

V. Career Preparation Practicum must be taken the semester before the final semester.

VI. The advanced writing requirement of the General Education curriculum is satisfied by the Theatre major by successful completion of 22-431 History of Theatre I or 22-432 History of Theatre II.
