Minor Credit Hours: 20

Minors in Natural Sciences may take a Biology class only two times. If a student has not achieved a minimum of a “C” after the second attempt, the student may not repeat the class.

The Biology Department will award 3 hours of credit for the General Education class BIOL 10000 (Introduction to Biology) when students have received a score of 4 or 5 on AP tests. No credit is awarded for major classes based on AP scores.

Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Nursing, and Physics majors may not minor in Natural Sciences.

IV. Liberal Arts majors who choose to complete the Natural Sciences minor as one of their two required minors must complete two unduplicated upper-division science-based or mathematics-based courses at Lewis University. In order to satisfy the upper-division requirement when this minor is applied to the Liberal Arts major, students who have completed 20 lower-division credit hours in courses listed above may request that two additional upper-division science-based or mathematics-based courses in other departments be approved by the advisor and Dean.
