Students can fulfill this requirement by:
- Successfully completing a two-semester language course in the Lewis University Language Program.
- Transferring to Lewis University the equivalent training from another recognized post-secondary institution subject to University transfer policies.
- Credits earned for acceptable scores in AP, CLEP, IB or other accepted assessment examinations can apply towards the foreign language requirement. Heritage speakers with formal language training may petition to take a diagnostic test in a particular language. Petitions for a diagnostics test must be approved by both the Director of the International Business Program and the Director of Foreign Languages. Diagnostic text will either:
* Place a student out of the requirement
* Diagnose a student as needing one or two additional semesters of college-level study.
