Teacher Leader Endorsement Only
The Educational Leadership teacher leader endorsement only is designed to assist current licensed teachers to move into school based leadership. These positions can address the improvement of student learning, improvement of instruction, professional development, coaching, mentoring, team leader and department chair.
See complete admission requirements in College of Education introduction. The following are prerequisites for acceptance into the teacher leader endorsement only program that go beyond the requirements for admission to the College of Education.
Prerequisites
1. Professional Educator License with Teacher Endorsement
2. Three years successful teaching experience
3. Fulfillment of Survey of Exceptional Child requirement (105 ILCS 5/21-2a)
4. A Master’s Degree
Course of study for the Teacher Leader Endorsement Only: total of 21 semester hours plus the comprehensive exam.
