Chinese Language and Culture Minor

Minor Credit Hours: 18

This minor will provide students with the unique opportunity to augment their knowledge, language skills, and cross-cultural expertise in a region of increasing strategic and global importance. The study of Chinese language and culture is currently among the most popular language-related academic pursuits in the U.S. Heritage speakers must consult the Director of the Foreign Language Program when selecting language courses for this minor. Chinese Language and Culture minors are encouraged to pursue a second minor in Ethnic and Cultural Studies.

Choose, with the advice and consent of the director of the Ethnic and Cultural Studies Program, 15 credit hours in significant ethnic and cultural electives, preferably in China and /or Asia-related courses not duplicated among courses listed above. Two courses (6 credits) in this minor must be at the 300 or 400 level.
