Dental Health

The Bachelor of Science program in Dental Health is designed for the experienced board certified dental hygienist with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene looking to further their education. This program will allow practicing dental hygienists to expand their foundation in dental hygiene while earning a bachelor's degree. Classes include topics related to current issues in dental health, public health, research, and medically related sciences. This information will prepare existing dental hygienists to better understand the needs of their patients and the bachelor's degree will give them the opportunity to pursue new roles in the field such as dental health educator, community health planner, hospital dental specialist, researcher, and dental hygiene instructor. The role of the dental hygienist is becoming increasingly more critical as the number of geriatric patients requiring dental care increases each year. A Bachelor of Science in Dental Health will provide additional career opportunities for those looking to reach the next degree level in their career field.
